Dr. Amy Jean Poole

 

Amy grew up in a small farming community near the Outer Banks. After graduating high school she went to NC State University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science in 1998. She went on to Vet School at NC State where she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.

After graduation she and her family moved to Virginia where she worked as an associate in a ruminant practice for 4 months. Returning to North Carolina she worked as an associate in a large animal practice for nearly four years. Then in April of 2006 she decided the time was right to start her own practice.

She has a 6 year old son named Joshua that starts kindergarden at Kendall Valley this fall.  Dr. Poole has two horses of her own (Dakota and QC), a shelter resuce dog named Biscoe, 3 cats and a snake named Paco.

 


Caroline Gray

Caroline Gray is a Vet Assistant with Bear Creek Mobile Veterinary Services. Caroline is a native of Mt. Pleasant where she continues to reside. Caroline graduated in 1995 with BS in Animal Science from NC State University. For the past 15 years she has been competing in 3-Day eventing and in her spare time she trains young horses. It has always been a passion of hers to work with large animals and as a veterinary assistant she is able to be hands on with the care of our patients. Her latest endeavor is breeding and raising quality Welsh pony crosses for competition. It is important to her to provide the best care possible for her own animals as well as those of our clients.

Linda Giles

Linda functions as our office manager extordinaire.  Bear Creek Mobile Veterinary Services could not function without her supreme organization and task oriented mind set.  If you need to place an order or get prices on supplies, she is ready and willing to assist you. 

Linda grew up in Tennessee and has lived in North Carolina since 1980.  She has seven years' experience as a veterinary technician and was also involved with breeding, training, grooming and showing several different breeds of dogs.  Linda also logged many miles as an over-the-road truck driver before she and her husband Lee settled in the Charlotte area.  She has seven years' experience as a Paramedic and was the office manager for a John Deere dealership in the Matthews area for the past ten years.  

Linda and Lee currently reside in the Unionville area with her 4 dogs, 24 alpacas, two llamas and 2 goats.   In addition to her position with BCMVS, she is owner and manager of Simply Southern Alpacas where she breeds,shows, and sells award winning animals. 

 

 

 


 

Angie Thompson

Angie currently resides in Mt Pleasant, NC where she was born and raised.  Angie has professional training in Dental Assisting and worked as a patient treatment coordinator for over ten years prior to becoming a stay at home mom with her two children Josie and Will.   

We are grateful to have Angie working with us part-time on Tuesdays and Thursdays as our receiptionist.  She stays supremely busy and in her spare time she assists her husband, Darin with his business.  Darin owns and operates Whipporwhill Stables Farrier Service.  

Both Angie and Darin work very closely with the Standardbred Retirement Foundation as a foster farm for many retired racing standardbreds.

Angie's passion is horses and has ridden all of her life.  She enjoys endurance riding and competes in the American Endurance Ride Conference.
