Different animals have different needs, however, ALL cats, dogs and ferrets are required by NC law to be vaccinated for rabies. NC does have specific criteria that can be met for a 3 year tag to be issued but the first vaccine will only be current for 1 year. Livestock are not required to be vaccinated for rabies unless under certain circumstances but it still recommended that all horses and pet livestock (not chickens) be vaccinated every year with an approved vaccine by a licensed veterinarian. Rabies tags are required by Stanly County (and most all counties) to worn by the animal at all times.
Other vaccines are recommended but are based on the species or exposures specific to your environment. Just call or email our staff members and ask what is recommended for your animal in your specific exposure level. We will be glad to help.
